At Harbour Haven we have some
great family cycling routes right on our doorstep. The picture
on the right shows the cycle route at Whitecliff, about 1 mile
around the bay from Poole Quay.
Please bring your own bikes along with you or feel free to use
the bikes we have provided. There are now ten bikes kept at the
house (see pictures of some of them below). These cater for all
sizes including 2 for the little ones. For the really brave
there is also a cycle trailer you can use to transport beach
chairs, towels, buckets and spades etc down to the beach at
Sandbanks.
In our guide book we have described our favourite routes,
based on the assumption that you will want to cycle as a mixed
party including kids and that some members of the party won’t
have been on a bike for a good while! We have also provided
cycling guide books and maps.
A lot of the recommended cycling is
off-road on good tarmac or gravel tracks, but there are also
some more 'interesting' challenges for the more experienced e.g.
the picture on the left was taken during a recent 'round the
harbour' ride .
